Bridal Shower Tradition...
Traditionally, the bridal shower brings together a woman's closest friends and her family - everyone from her first grade best friend, to her new mother-to-be. The friends and family are there to provide moral support for the bride-to-be. The idea to give wedding shower gifts is fairly new, originating sometime in the 1890’s. It is said, that at one shower, the bride’s friend placed small gifts inside a parasol and opened it over the bride’s head so that the presents would "shower" over her.
