When it comes to etiquette for second marriages you will find some differing
answers. Quite a few websites and books will say that bridal showers should not be held for
second marriages, and these are the older and more conservative viewpoints. However, today
people are more open when it comes to showers and quite a few couples working on their
second marriages have showers to celebrate. It is completely okay for couples to have as many
showers as they want as long as their friends and family members are willing to host them. It is
not acceptable for a bride to hold a wedding shower for herself, but if her friends, co-workers,
or family members offer to host a shower in her honor then it is completely acceptable.
